Watch Description

I believe that this is marked 1937 with an arrow symbol on the movement. I’ve not been able to find anything similar in the adverts from 1937. It looks similar to the 1942 Carrel, with some noted differences: the Carrel is 17j, whereas this watch is 21j; the Carrel has engraved details among the front edges of the case whereas mine does not. I am also inclined to believe that the band pictured is original, since it does not bear the markings of any known third party manufacturer, but I could be wrong.

Yeah! The bulova envoy looks like a good match. Did it come in 21j though?

You do raise a good point. That is unknown, chances are not, so the movement may be a replacement/upgrade.

That’s what I suspected. I’m not sure how much customization would’ve been available to customers when they bought a watch from the bulova shop, but that’s probably a good explanation for a higher jewel movement in this model.

A very modern looking watch for 1937.   1937 Bulova Envoy is a good match.
