Watch Description

Here's a pretty exciting one. Purchased at an online auction from a Goodwill store. Listed as

"Watches are not tested for functionality, batteries may not be included, and are sold for parts or repair."

Much to my shock and disbelief, it's pretty minty and keeps perfect time. Movement dated 1934. I would call this one a classic "sock drawer watch." The only other example of this watch in white gold plate I have ever seen is Jerin's; uploaded to the database in 2020.

The 40's Benrus w/no crown it was paired with looks NOS. I put a crown on it and after 24 hrs, it's within 30 seconds. Win/win..... Deal of the month :o)

This seems to be the only reference that ties the model name Physician to these watches.

Correct. No ad ever surfaced. This one was ID'ed by crystal fit process of elimination (Ben Hur & Calhoun ad identified) and the sweep second hand  being considered a medical profession feature.
