Really cool enamel cases art deco men's watch. Love the enamel on this one. The serial stamping on this one is off centered and it's wild it was allowed past quality control. I am coming up with Unknown, and I believe we have others in th database labeled the same. Pretty rare old guy here. First one I've ever come across.
Interesting.
Subject watch is s/n 1128189
My example is s/n 1128290
the third is s/n 1127945
All three are dated 1931 and all three bear an offset from center serial number. It appears that the second thru seventh digits were centered under case text and the first was stamped as an afterthought (date). It would seem there weren't very many of these produced, based on how close the case numbers are.
Alas, 1931 Unknown

This lends weight to my thought that the first number was added post manufacture of the case and when the watch was assembled instead. Case style manufactured in a batch and stamped with batch serial number (unique across across a given year/period), then when assembled for sale, stamped with the first number corresponding with the year of assembly.
