Watch Description

We have a Bulova picket watch measuring 44.4mm across.  It has a double date stamped 🌙 to 🛡️.

Looks like the crystal is letting off gas and has rusted the hands.

Cool etched monogram on the back.

Love that engraving, done by a very skilled engraver. Would it be "G J F" ?

Might be a 1928 Bulova Empire. Yes the dial is different, but everything else looks to match and we don't see many pocket watches around this time period.

What a great find!  A pocket watch is in my future at some point : )

Bulova Empire looks like a close match

In keeping with our methodology to use primary ID as the case, I agree with 1929 Bulova Empire. Nice snag plains.

Well, I guess I went from the shield (1929) over the crescent moon (1928) on the movement. Should probably have gone off the case s/n eh?

So if that is a shield we are seeing next to the cresent moon, it's fair to say that it was added later as the cresent moon would be original, matching the rest of the engraving.

If it it is a sheld then that matches the case serial number for 1929, which works well.
