Well, the face is marked "Rubaiyat" so I'll go with that. Your guess is as good as mine on the date.
The movement is a 15 J 10AI. The date range for that movement is 1921-1923. Its marked "Bulova W. Co." which makes it pre-April 1923.
The case is American Standard, 25 yeas, 14K gold filled, "monogram quality". I've read that the "Rubaiyat" signature on the dial might put it in the earlier part of the movement range. So maybe 1921? The ad is 1919.
It obviously engraved on the back. It runs and keeps time.
You guys might notice the markings on the rim in the case around the movement. I can't remember who but someone else pointed these out on another watch I submitted. At least on that one, they seemed to be significant.
The markings on the case edge represent the last three digits of the case serial number, in this case 947. This was done to match up the caseback with the bezel and main case body.
So they should be: VIIII iV VII
I'd date this to around 1922-1923
I have a record of a Rubaiyat with case serial number 1115813 that was engraved with '1923'. Now that does not mean it was manufactured in 23, but the 111xxxx with a shield does make it a later Rubaiyat and around the time that they dropped the name and moved to Lady Maxim or just Bulova branded dials.
I'd go 1922 Rubaiyat
