Help with "8" index

Submitted by timesofplenty on March 6, 2013 - 11:01am

Been cleaning/organizing here and came across this watch that's been in limbo for years. It's complete and working, but when I got it the 8 was missing. Sent it to a dial refinisher to replace it and it came back with one that didn't quite match; it was all they had evidently. Would like to replace it with the correct, any help out there?

Thank you,

Scott

Nice case, haven't seen this one before. What are the case markings?

They came very close...not a bad job.

Very close indeed, there is a slight difference - the points mostly. Not sure I ever would have noticed it. I just checked mine - it is rounded.

Very cool, Geoff. A President 'F', indeed. I'm going to keep an eye out for this one, I like it. (adds to list of 'eyes out')

Thanks, Geoff!
This one's dated L5, and I'm betting this Kreisler with black glass inserts is orig.
Decided to put it all back together in spite of the wrong 8...2 or 3 years sitting apart is enough I guess :)

Oh, that is a pretty piece. Those insert bands are so cool. What a great combo.
