I have a Bulova A9 watch that I cannot find any information about. The case serial # is 2581684. It looks like a 1948 Director but instead of having 3 diamonds it had 3 large red rubies on the 12,3 and 9 o'clock settings and 8 smaller diamonds on the other time settings and no actual numbers on the clock itself. Also, the wristband part itself is made from what looks to be yellow gold on the outer part and maybe white gold on the inner part of the band. I cant upload a pic of it because my camera just shows blurs. Does anyone here have any idea what this watch is or have a pic they can send here so I can know what exactly I own ? Thank you, Tim
That pic is extremely close to what I have except on mine on the face where it says Bulova there is nothing underneath it in writing. Also, the bottom where the second hands are featured mine looks the same but has a box outlining it and lastly the band of the watch is all gold , no leather. Besides that the gems all look the same as mine. Thank you for the pic, thats a pretty close comparrison. I dont understand the A9 on the back of the watch unless they tried to make it similar to the 1942 style.
First, get your pics down to a reasonable size so that they won't be distorted, e.g., 640 x 480 px, 150kb.
Second, when you are in a comment block like this one, place your cursor where you want to insert the picture, then follow these steps:
1. Click the icon of the mountains and sun on the comment block tool bar
2. Click the Upload tab
3. Click Browse to find your picture on your computer
4. Cick the Send It To The Server button
5. Click Ok to exit
6. Repeat as necessary to upload all pics
OK, like my original post stated, the 1949 came with a black leather wrist band and 3 diamonds only, no rubies ..mine has a gold wrist band, 9 diamonds and 3 rubies. I'm trying to figure out if this is a true 1949 or if it's from a different year. Also , I'm trying to find the value of this because it seems people around my erea never seen one and have no clue what its value might be. I'm gonna try to upload 3 pics, hopefully they come out ok. Thanks again.

Your pictures indicate that the case is a Bulova Squadron. The authentic Squadron came with a pink dial as shown in the 1946 ad No.7. The dial installed in your watch is an aftermarket dial, popular in the 1940s that jewlers used to add bling.

TL I apologise I was wrong about the dial. So just disregard my comment.
We don't price watches on this site. Ebay is a good resource for seeing how much these types of watches sell for, and, of course, you could also elect to sell your watch on eBay. You may not find this exact model--with the enhanced dial--in current or past eBay sales, but you can probably find something comparable. You can also sell it on eBay without deciding on a price. All you have to do is put it up for auction with a low starting bid and let the market decide what it is worth.
