hello everyone
this is riteaid and Im new to this site and need some help.I have a 1924 bulova with 15 jewels and the movement model is 5pp.Would like to get the closest I can to the original band as pos.thanks for any help you can give me.
Look through the vintage ad database for the styles, and then keep a eye out on e-bay for one like it...I will many times buy a watch just for the band if its is reasonable, and fits my needs, remove the band, and resell the watch with a different band that I don't need...sometimes I even make a couple bucks on it...
The 1920's Ladies pieces with wire lugs are a challenge to band. Some originals were made from Grosgrain ribbon (or similar) which is still available in various colors and differing widths through crafts stores and vendors - the buckle is the real challenge.
To get a 1920's 'look' without being 100% correct try a Grosgrain ribbon 1 piece Military style strap which are available in the smaller widths, these work, give the look when on the wrist or mounted for display and are pre fitted with a modern Buckle.
Good luck.
