Some of you know that members of the 1928 New York Yankees World Series Championship team were presented Hamilton Piping Rock watches by the then Commissioner of Major League Baseball, Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis.
But did you know the the 1935 Detroit Tiger World Series Championship team members got LONE EAGLES!
I don't know what newspaper the following is taken from but I recently bought it on ebay and had it framed. There is a slight yellowing across the fold but otherwise it is in wonderful condition. My dear friend Bob Bruno will certainly agree that the 2013 Detroit Tigers will most likely be shopping for World Series Championship watches soon as well.
I'm extremely happy to see that the ad went to a good home!!
it looks great framed.
Question: why have we not seen the LE presented like this in an official Bulova advert? Different case and dial.
I'd love to find a confirmation advert. That or this is yet another LE version.

And my home is extremely happy to have it hanging on a wall! I'll be attending a Tiger baseball game the day after tomorrow, perhaps I should wear a LE to the event. By the way, the blue and orange mat was chosen because it's close to the team colors.
We have, in the newspaper adverts several of these watches advertised as LE's. I can't imagine why this particular style never shows up in an official Bulova produced ad. Unless of course, all those ads have it labeled wrong but even that seems unlikely given the number we have.
What would I love to find? One of the watches!
Actually the watch looks very similar to the 1938 Commentator.
