I have a Bulova watch I wear every day and was made in 1954 (L4) on back. It is a mystery dial type, 14k case, not rolled gold, 30 jewel, self winding with six (6) diamonds on the face. The enclosed pictures are of it. I cannot find anything on this baby and would love to know the actual name "model-style of it. Please help me on this if you can. It is just a great old watch. Thank you so much,
Tom

I am going to take pictures of the entire movement and watch tomorrow and see what developes.
If I cant identify it then I will put an old NOS bul0iva watch band on it that I found and prob sell it to the highest bidder. This is so dishearting not to be able to indentify it as it is such a nice old watch. I really do like it too. Lets see what tomorrow brings,
Tom
Here is the Bulova "23" Mystery Dial.
And here is what I believe to be the 30 jewel Mystery Dial model.
Note the similarity in case and dial design. 1960 ad.
And one in the DB, different case to the Subject, but has an identical dial. And is in as a "Mystery Dial" model.
One of these is probably a "re-cased" watch movement and dial, but which? I would think the subject, because of the date on the case.

BOBBEE,
You are the MAN. The person that toldme there was no date on the movement was an "apprentence" and was wrong. I went in today and had the actual jeweler open it up and he went right to the movement date. The movement is marked MQ so I have a 54 case and a 60 movement or in lay terms, a real franken watch. I am still having it repaired and I ordered a period band in filled gold and will wear it proudly. I now know I have a cross breed but a nice cross breed. Thanks to all for your dedication to this site and the Bulova family. I was going to post a picture with this but being a cross breed myself, I couldnt figure it out,
Tom
