1946 could be it actually, would also make sense. Good call Bobbee.

The above watch is the "Dutchess' very very similar but looks to have a straigh rectangular diamond set unlike the subject watch that looks to have a rounded one. Couldbe wrong but from the adverts that we see they are close but not a match. Still 1946 would seem the better year for this watch.

Interesting that we see the cross over from year stamp to date code on the movement. Nice

46 confirmed.

Case and it's styling would be 1946 with L3 movement replacing the original. Gorgeous watch bt UK for now.

Could this be the Arline from this 1946 ad?

I think the "Airline" says 4 diamonds?

How about this one....

The Atlanta Constitution, Sun Dec 1, 1946 - "Duchess" ?

Yes it is hard for me to see what is diamonds and what is gold etching.  Maybe the owner can confirm?  Lovely watch.  The link he provides to a similar watch has 4 diamonds.

I couldn't get the link to paste in the comments but it is similar to his with 4 diamonds.  It also shows a 46 movement and 14K case.  I purchased the ad (for a different watch I'm getting) with the Arline so maybe I can get a close up of it from the ad when I get it.

hrmm... yeah that could be the Airline.  Those lugs are unusual enough to be pretty distinct.
