I'm posting this to follow up on the comment I added to the discussion about Jared Riffe's 1931 Sky King with the XX pattern. As I indicated, today i bought a watch on eBay that matches Jared's. It has the XX design instead of the fish pattern, and also gold radium numerals and matching hands. I saved the picture from eBay, and am posting them here. The case number is 1067649. It has a 10AN movement, but I can't make out the date code in the picture of the movement.
The discussions related to Jared's watch and the previous discussion at http://www.mybulova.com/node/2576 are extremely informative... Great for a newbie like me, as far as trying to figure these beauties out...
Serial number of case starts with 1. My vote is for 1931 But I am not sure about the xx versus the fish. Dial and hands are consistent with 30's era. We will be able to tell more when you get the watch and we can see the date code of the movement. Very nice watch. Thanks for posting it.

Check the top right Sky King in this 1932 ad. The ad shows the tonneau minute track in the angled case.
The tonneau shaped minute/seconds tracks "could" indicate a faulty redial but we are seeing more and more mismatched dials from this time period. If memory serves I think we have a couple of Sky Kings like yours, i.e. hexagonal case & tonneau dial. Other examples in the DB are cut corner cases with rectangular dials.
I did notice that some of the ads in the discussion of Jared Riffe's 1931 Sky King watch have second and minute tracks that are curved and not six sided, but those ads are also the ones for the Sky King that has the fish style bezel... Confusing for a newbie like me...
I think the case is Sky King, looks to be in excellent condition. This is what I would call the second generation Sky King case. The dial appears to have been restored or perhaps replaced, I don't think it is the original configuration for the King. Perhaps you could add the movement s/n and date code mark?
It really is a beautiful watch.
Thanks. Actually, not my first. I have a few now, but have only been collecting them for the last few months. Given how much there is to learn, I consider myself new to this world and feel fortunate to have found this website, as well as Watchophilia. I've even gotten my wife hooked with several nice ladies Bulova's from the late 1920s,early 1930s, and also bought one for each of my two daughters for Valentines Day! They like the nice, art deco designs...
I'll add the date code and movement serial number after the watch arrives. I'm going to enjoy wearing it...
