not found it listed anywhere , case number is 1014300 and if the movement is a 10Ax which dates it to around 1940 . Does not have a crystal which measures around 20cm by 15cm and has no strap either. have not opened it up yet , will leave that to a specialist. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback again , still struggling to identify the model. The stepped sides look like some other models but the ribbed edges appear to be unique. Have checked all the catalogues on this website and watches but I am no nearer to finding the model type.

The only way to get information you need for identification is to open the watch & document all stamped info. Inside the back case will help identify the case. Same with the movement. Until then it's all speculation. Try this at home!
How to Open Your Bulova

Hi
I am guessing you mean MM :).... I will take a look through my crystal catalogues but it really needs to be measured with some digital calipers as crystals go to .00 of a mm.
The nearest i can see with a quick look in the GS catalog is the X655 crystal measuring 19.9 x 14.3mm as of yet i can not see an associated name but will check othe catalogs in a while when i am able to

Hi there,
The crystals are spec'd to 1/100 of a mm... That being said, getting within .25 or .5mm will often suffice... Get yourself a pair of "digital calipers" on eBay, etc. for around $20.USD delivered, then you can spec the proportions for crystals, in general... (Even rounds!)
Message me for more info. Most crystals are priced at only $14.95 for (common, 2+ in stock) glass... And only $9.95 for most acrylics... plus either $2.50 to deliver in the Continental US... Or $5.00 abroad...
This one appears to take a Perfit: C206/1 x 158? And I suspect therefore a W-C A205 or 206 x 157/8/ or 9? Or a BB: X2050s- 2060s series, by the same width? Or the G-S "Senator" acrylics may also fit? (G-S X706, pre 1939.)
And this is presuming that the bezel ledge (i.e. where the crystal seats) appears to be flat, around BOTH sides of the perimeter??? (And therefore the crystal should NOT curve lengthwise, or it's rather an "MX" in BB, or G-S, for instance...) An "X" denotes flat edges in BOTH directions... Whereas an 'MX" (a "Military" style rectangle + "X" shape) curves lengthwise, and may or may not be flat top and bottom? (i.e. "width" wise...)
Best :-) W. Scott T.
P.S. also see: www.WatchCrystals.net (I will soon be listing another 30+ more Bulova crystals...)
Yah,
I have glass for it... and 90%+ of these Bullys (excluding round dials) and over 150 (Mens) ID'd. But not this model, just yet? I had one a year ago, but never determined the model, prior to trading it...
PM me, or email... I won't be hovering around here much, after this week... (No time to!)
And I doubt very much, that this is an "Ambassador..." Good news is... it's uncommon, to scarce!
:-) Scott

Terry,
The only Bully namesake I see (from a 1939 G-S Flexo catalog) that appears the same glass+ is:
MODEL
GS
BB
PERFIT
FULTON
(1930s) Senator
X706
X2076 159
2
C206/1 158
1
3-207D 159
I too had one of these (scarce) watches a year ago, and couldn't ID it then (for sure?) either!
I have (2) Perfit and one (slighly thicker) Fulton glass, in stock... These may require SLIGHT resizing (sand and polish) mind you! $14.95 + 2.50 Shipped in the Continental US. (Or $5.00 Shipped, elsewhere, for most glass...)
Best :-) Scott
