Here is a recent sold listing from every ones favorite auction site that Mr. Baker got outbid on and although he didn't win it, it deserves some attention...and he also received permission from the seller "estatejules" to use the pictures & info for this discussion.
Here is the sellers description of the markings and spec's:
15J 10AC movement with a serial number of 576625
1927 patent date Yellow Gold filled Hinged case with dust cover Serial Number 2227763 inside of case, unknown what is on the outside, but it looks different from the picture.
I don't necessarily think that it is a President, it could be called something else, but now we know of 2 with the Calendar feature from this era, Stephen has the other.
Another Prototype??

Not a President, it's the wrong shape. The watch is square and seller stated 27mm. wide non inclusive of crown.
Geoffs 1928.
More like the Revere, with engraving like on the 1931 President and Alvin bezel sides, all in the new 1931 ad Lisa provided.
Anyone asked Lisa if she minds? Her watch now.
Those sure are four fantastic watches....the three solid silver case examples are great! Glad this wandering seconds beauty went to a good home...
As far as a prototype, I think it's simply a model which we haven't seen yet.....quite rare if none of us have seen one over the years. No ads or other examples....yet. Let's hope for the sock-drawer effect, and if there's another example out there (which I bet there is...) it shows up before long. I also betcha there's a Bulova-made model catalog from this time period out there somewhere- perhaps a in a library or the basement of an older jewelry store or watchmakers shop- just waiting to be found.... I'm hoping that interest in these older Bulvoa continues to increase, and websites like MyBulova, Watchophilia and others encourage watchmakers, horologists, collectors and old jewelry store owners to check their basements for these Bulova Ephemera, as these documents would help unravel part of the mystery...
And yes, I think it's real, rare, and 100% classic Bulova.
