You caught us on a good day with a few panel members on line at the same time. This is a hobby for us all. No need to feel bad, I didn't see your last post until after I posted response about price way above. Kathy and I did the same with the linebook entry. It appears we are all typing at the same time.........and crossed in the mail.

Generally, a manual wind watch in good mechanical condition should go 24 + hrs when wound to the point where it feels like it wants to stop (snug). Tell her not to "crank it tight". If the watch is serviced, wind it at the same time every day. I wind first thing in the AM and re-adjust time if it's off a little. One or 2 minutes over 24 hrs is not uncommon and for me acceptable - it's not a quartz. :o)
My pleasure! Glad we could help! I'm sure she will love and cherish it. It does me good to hear of a young person interested in vintage watches. Both of my son-in-laws have caught the bug.....It will likely be a real item of interest to her friends, many of which might have never seen a mechanical watch, much less a solid gold one that is 60 years old and this small!
You might also want to warn her about water exposure...Take it off when washing and "pocket it" when going out in hard rain. Better safe than sorry.

Suggestion: when you have it engraved, put the "year of presentation" on the back under your inscription. In the event it becomes a family heirloom, it adds to the story. You gave your daughter a 61 yr old watch in 2023. It will save confusion when her grandchildren are handling it wondering if gramma was way older than they thought :o)
I have a watch in my collection dated 1942 with a dedication on the back dated 2/14/1997.
