Watch Description

Fantastic looking round watch.  Very reminescent of the late 1950's 23 Jewel His Excellency watches. Unknown Jewels as I can't get the back to pop off and I'm not going to damage the watch with further attempts. After looking again at Mark's NOS Squadron L this matches it perfectly.

Looks to me as thought the lugs have been bent out.

Except for the numbers 12, 3,6 and 9 looks like the same watch! Even the band looks the same. This is a 1961 17 J  caliber 11AL mvt. 40mm by 33mm wide. Gold filled case. Case back is S.S. snap in. Sorry Plains no mention of the model name.

1955 - 1960 this was a 'PRESIDENT' - in the early '60's (1960) this design became the 'SQUADRON' as the 'PRESIDENT' became 23 Jewels with sweep Center seconds. - examples in the database.

Ah... I remember that!  Sweet... I'm good with the ID after remembering Marks NOS one matching this.

What would a watch like this but with no numnerals, just hash marks be called??

JP,

pre 1960 was the 'PRESIDENT', post '60 became the 'SQUADRON', based on the information to Date.

Totally unlike the Squadron "L" in fifth's post.

Different hands, markers, sub-dial, and the case back is a snap on type.

Unknown.
