Here's a nice gent's watch owned by a customer, 7AH movt needed a new hairspring and full CTR but is running well now. The movt itself is stamped with both the Asterisk and the 'Anchor', indicating 1941 and 1942.
I thought it was a Minuteman but can't find any match. The crystal is very slightly curved and the case is curiously flat. The 7AH that is in here is different from other 7AH's I have in stock, the lower plate is flat, while there is a curvature to the others. What this means is not all 7AH's are the same, not by a long shot. Despite having parts that are interchangeable with other movts like the 7AK, there are some significant differences, like the balance bridge. The 7AH, 7AK, 7AN, and 7AP all use the ETA 735 ebauche, but again, there are differences.
Is the watch case back marked with Bulova?
This watch looks familiar, but I can't remember if it's because I've had in a black dial, or if I've gotten tricked with this case before as it could be aftermarket?
There is something funky with that dial too I think. Might be a redial.
There is distortion of the "Bulova" name from the curved crystal, but the dial seems original. It is a Bulova case, properly marked. I should have gotten a pic of the watch from the side, but it is very very, slightly curved. The case is almost flat, but not quite. The movt fits the case like a glove, as does the dial...Pics don't do it justice, it almost looks tilted, but it is not.

As per other thread, 1939 to 1941 is pretty close and with none in the database for comparison, it's a tough call. Only one ad makes it tough as well. That said, if there are no other examples of this case called anything else but "Boone", that is probably what it is. Face font in ad may be period incorrect. We have seen that before.
