1972 Clipper AQ . Nice watch on replacement band, condition is excellent accurate runner. I personally have never opened this one up, never felt the need to. Purchased from the original owner and know it's legit.

Thanks Ken, on an unmolested original scale of 1-10 this one is an easy 9+ Only real issue is some marks in and around the wrench notches on the back from a previous clumsy opening. Almost a "sock drawer" watch, but not quite. Doesn't appear to have seen much wrist time.
Hi nice watch! So familiar to me. I have two of these one in steel with the dark and light blue two tone dial and original steel bracelet the other is gold plated with a brown and black two tone dial on leather. Difference is they are both N4 and both 23 jewel automatics serial numbers: steel: 3856285. gold plated: 3745365. Lovely watches. I'll be posting some pics when both watches are in the same room so to speak. I havent seen either of these anywhere apart from here with this 17 jewel version. Both watches running well. I'm actually looking for a UB for the gold plated one as someone in the past fitted one that isn't quite the right size. Not a common UB shape. Anyway if anyone could help I would really appreciate some info on this. Thanks everyone Happy new year.
Geoff

Hi Geoff, welcome to mybulova. We would welcome you to post both watches one at a time for review , identification and verifcation. It's interesting that both your watches are 23 jewel. Up to and even in 1974, I believe Clippers were 17 jewel. Your watches may be something similar but different name, based on face color and movement. It's hard to say without photos. There was a Clipper with a gold case and brown face in 1974, but it was sold with a 17j movement. Look forward to seeing them.
