I am trying to find out the model of this watch, with no success. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. There are no markings on the back of the watch.
I recently purchased a vintage Bulova watch but I'm having a difficult time finding any information about it. From the Bulova date code (L5) I think it's from 1955. There's a number stamped on the back of the case on the bottom. It's L71845. It's an expansion band and it's marked USA on each link. I don't see any other markings on it. It works and it's in pretty good shape. I think it needs to be cleaned. The crystal is a little dingy. I wanted as much information on it as I could find before looking for somewhere to have it cleaned.&nbs
Hello,
My fiance was given an antique Bulova to use as her "something old". I believe it was my grandmothers or great grandmothers. It is very petite with one of those bracelets that stretch to fit your wrist.
I cant find any markings on the back of the watch, but did find Sturdymaid on the bracelet part. There does appear to be 2 letters on the top and bottom of the inside of the watch just under where the bracelet meets the face, if you are looking straight at it. Looks like MAYBE "CE" but cant make it out.
This is a recent find I would love to know more about. The dial is textured, Bulova under the 12, Self Winding under the hands, Swiss under the 6. No Serial number on the back of the watch, it just says Bulova Watch Co - Stainless Steel - Antimagnetic - Waterproof - Shock Resistant. Has a Speidel strap that looks fairly new. Keeps good time so far but the minute hand seems to skip. I have not tried to remedy the skipping by adjusting the crown at all and would like to know if the skipping is indicitave of a problem or if it can be fixed by winding the crown forwards (backwards?).
After my grandfathers passing I found this amongst his things. I looked around but had no luck finding what model / year this watch is. Anyone able to lend a helping hand?
I'd like to invite everyone to post their top 5 methods/criteria of identifying a vintage Bulova watch.
I know you may have more than 5, but I want to gauge from the myBulova members what the 'general' feeling is for correctly IDing a watch.
Please do not reply to anyones post as this is not up for debate or discussion at this time. I just want the methods that 'you' use.
Black enamel beauty in excellent condition - sorry the photo isn't clearer - if I'd quit buying watches, I might be able to afford a decent camera... Anyway, here's everything I know:
1928 (6AP, crescent moon symbol)
15 jewels, 4 adj
The writing inside the case is very light, but it appears to be Bulova 14k gold filled.
Hey folks, wondering if anyone has an idea about this 1949 8AC 17J model that looks a lot like a Douglas, only much more decorated? Thanks for any help!
