WWII A-11 Issue Box

Submitted by barkerka on October 9, 2020 - 3:10pm

Hello Group -

I am looking for anyone that may have a better photo of the attached box sealing tape, in particular the logo seen on the left side of the bottom, (it appears to be a coat of arms with planes circling a globe ??).  These attached photos were downloaded from a search that popped up when looking for original packing and I am yet to find the original posting site.

In making a few boxes for my own collection, I have been able to source all other aspects except for the tape.   Any leads on what that logo may look like are greatly appreciated.

Bulova Duncan 1948 7 AK 21 Jewels Button

Submitted by Legsrooney on September 3, 2020 - 1:10pm

Good afternoon,

I've been searching the Web, E-Bay etc for a 1948 movement for spares for my watch. The part I was looking for is the " Bulova Stamped Button" which was on the watch when I received it over 30 years ago, however those that I found were unstamped.

The nearest I found was a 7 AK movement vintage 1949 with a stamped button, but not a Duncan judging by the Dial  and I tust this will be a suitable  replacement.

GEMEX Leather Bracelet Restoration

Submitted by JimDon5822 on August 20, 2020 - 4:40pm

Received this GEMEX watch strap in a lot off of ebay.   I noticed that the silver areas had residue around them.  After further review it appears to be dried leather.  The strap appears to be for a 1957 Princeton/Webster/Viscount.   I noticed the ends seemed to be hinged.  Well I took it apart and found that you could insert new leather.  I cut out a small piece of the only leather I had and it restored nicely.  I think it needs a darker lizard skin but am happy with the results.   I thought I would share.   The only thing is I cannot figure out the spring bars.

Desk clocks

Submitted by gawl07 on May 14, 2020 - 8:11pm

I tried to post this before, so apologies if this appears twice!

I have two desk clock.

Somebody has posted a photo of the little silver one on here. Theirs is in better condition than mine.

The other appears to be brass. Certainly heavy enough to be brass.

Unfortunately, I don't have packaging / cases for either.

Just sharing.
