Additional Information

This is my favorite Buolva.   it is a tonneau shaped stainless steel case with a beautiful brushed champagne dial.  It has applied minute markers and printed Bulova Automatic on the dial.  It has a Date window.  The case back is marked with a stylized RV ?  and Swiss and 7688.  I cannot find any date codes.  It measures 42MM x 36MM.

I am only guessing on this date.   It could be 1983 since the serial number begins with a stand alone 3.   It also could be 1976 since the inside case back number starts with a 76.  This one has been stumped as to it's date.

Interesting and attractive watch. The absence of a 2 digit date code on movement and case seems to indicate 80's or newer?

Is there a 3 letter import code stamped anyplace on the movement? If not, my only guess would be a unknown date model from the International series produced and marketed outside the US.

Unknown for me for now.

There is no date code anywhere on the movement and no import code.   I do see that I listed the movement incorrectly.  It is an 11AOACD.  The only marks I see are on the rotor.

I've corrected the record movement code originally entered as 11ACACD

The case number 7688 is not listed in the 1974 case book, but it is listed in the 1979 supplement book. The case number does not represent the date code, so the 76## would not represent 1976. However, the watch has a 70s feel to it in my opinion and could be dated to the late 70s or even early 80s. Any chance there is a datestamp on the right side of the rotor, an N#?

There is no stamp visible.  It appears the date range on the movement says 1973 until about 1979.  It does have a Patek Nautilus vibe going which also indicates a late 70's homage possibly?

Odd to not have a datestamp anywhere. I've gone through the limited ads we have for the late 70s, but do not find a match.

No import code on the movement would suggest the watch was assembled outside the US, and the stampings on the case are not traditional Bulova/US style. That said, we still don't know how to assign a date.

I'm at odds. I agree it's late seventies / early eighties. It's Unknown to as as far as model ID.

I'm inclined to tag it 1979 Unknown.
