Recently inherited this watch from my wife's grandfather who was presented with it on his retirement from "Hercules Pipefitters" of Louisiana Missouri in 1977.

I am welsh and live in Wales, UK with my wife.

I have looked through this site and the numbers don't seem to match up with a specific model / watch

As you can see in the photos I cannot determine if the serial number is 218 or 2181, any thoughts please? On the case front is N6.

Same here, no luck identifying it any further than the fact it's a 

1976 Accutron

I should add 2181 is the caliber of the movement. Essentially 218 is the type of movement and the last 1 indicates date version of the 218 movement.

Thanks for the updates and it seems an oddball one by the looks of things.

I forgot to add a photo of the inside of the back cover this has the following written on it, it may shed a bit more light on things?

I found its sister.   1977-1979 Line Book.  Even the hand written case number on the ad matches the case back.  The dial is a different variant but I am comfortable calling it as follows:
