Watch Description

1974 Bulova Oceanographer in NOS drop dead gorgeous condition. Blue and white rotating bezel is perfect, not a scratch anywhere on this beauty. Back is only marked with 'Bulova', the s/n and "Stainless Steel 666 Feet. Original matching all stainless bracelet also marked 'Bulova'.  Dial is marked Bulova Snorkel - Automatic 666 Feet. Not sure if the numbers on the back tag have any meaning.

We do not, that I know of have an ad showing this watch as an Oceanographer, that is my best guess. I do not believe, as I have stated before, that it's a Snorkel.

But it says Snorkel on the dial Geoff.. What would make you think it was not a Snorkel?? Beautiful watch.

I agree with JP, Oceanographer's are so named on the dial (usually). I though we had already established that Bulova did in fact release a model called "Snorkel".

Snorkel for me.

Nice wrist ornament Geoff!

Since we have no real "Snorkel" proof, why not list these with "Snorkel on the dial as "Oceanographer Snorkel's" that way we could separate the two models?

I guess immitation is the best form of flattery.

These and other adverts show that Bulova did in fact release a model called the 'Snorkel'. Why are we still debating this point?

Geoff, there is an ad for the ladies Snorkel from 1972 linked up there.
