Watch Description

1973 New Old Stock Bulova.....Unknown? Case is marked gold electroplated bezel, while the Presidents and Oceanographers of the era were stainless. One single diamond chip adorns the gray to blue sunburst dial. Original Corfam tri color strap in near perfect condition. I really don't find anything in the adverts to match it. I'm inclined, with no basis whatsoever to think it's  Beau Brumell. A beautiful old Bulova.

Also could not find an advert, and would guess Beau Brummell - but have to go with Unknown at this time

Stephen dropped this advert into a couple watch records but it REALLY belongs here too!

Now, all we need is a name.....

This appears to be a 1973 Diamond Excellency based on this 1975 ad match.  Black vs Blue dial but probably just a variant.

[/quote]. I don't see the movement so the only designation is the 23J entered by the lister.  Could this be an error when this was entered?

Found the case and dial in the 1973 Line Book BAWD0181 Page 36 of 94.   Seems to be a good match to the 1973 Diamond Excellency "Q" down to the blue degrade dial except for the 23J. I wonder if it is a replacement movement.  Geoff do you have a picture of the movement?

Love this watch design...very clean.

Great to finally confirm its model and variant.

Geoff is it possible that you entered the jewel count incorrect?

I do not have this watch any longer, looking back on it now I wish I had not sold it. The jewel count was entered incorrectly, in my record I have as 17 (I updated the record). Thanks Jim for finding the name! Now I might start looking to find another one.
