Watch Description

I wish I could provide more information on this watch but it has a one piece caseback and I don't have the know-how to open it. Dial is marked "Automatic" and "23 Jewels". Thanks as always.

Nice condition for being 45 years young!  I'm betting the movement, if you do get it open or when you have it serviced, does indeed have 23 jewels.  Checking for ads or other similar examples which may point me towards a tentative ID or at least food for thought and discussion.

Interesting design, I like the short lugs and the touches of red on the dial really look good. I can't quite tell if the caseback will pop off (doesn't look to be screwed on) or if the movement is accessed through the top by removing the crystal. Haven't found a matching ad so far.

If you look carefully at the case, between the 4 and 5 there appears to be a slot on the front of the watch allowing the bezel to be removed. Probably a front loader.

Wow, good eye. I knew it was a front loader, but I hadn't noticed that slot before. It's clear as day with the aid of a loupe. Good catch.

I can't find an ad either, and can only theorize based on how long Bulova 23's were actually produced, if they eventually released a "calendar" model 23, etc....  and what other possibilities might be.
Unknown for now.

Dang it Joe, you've got all the nice ones, save a couple for us will ya? This is a cool watch, the dial, the case, the second hand, it's got it all.

Alas, we don't know his name.....Unknown.

Looks like the bezel screws off (anti-clockwise) and the movement comes out through the front. Simialiar to others of this period with the same 1970 case back. Wish I knew where to begin with an ID, but again you've thrown us a curve ball.

Unknown for now.

It appears to match, aside from the lollipop seconds hand.
