Watch Description

It's taken me oh, SO LONG to find another Golden Clipper D in New Old Stock condition. I was fortunate to find it in the original presentation case as well. The best part is that after several more years of searching I found the sword too! One Golden Clipper to sit on the shelf and one to hang on the wall.  1970 Bulova Golden Clipper D with 1970 Presentation Award Sword

Here is the first one I owned, which I sold several years ago, I honestly did not think I'd find another. NOTE that the serial numbers of the two are only 11 apart!

Here are photos of the first Sword and Watch.

Very nice watch, and love the sword, congrats! Pretty amazing that you have had 2 of the swords. Glad to see one is now in the Bulova museum.

Is there some significance to the date Sat 16?

Good question Bob, I'm surprised anyone would even have noticed. With the exception of one, two or maybe three, every day date watch under my account is set to Saturday the 16th. Date only models are also set to the 16th. Time is almost always 10:10 (within a couple minutes each way).

I was born on Saturday the 16th. 10:10 is used extensively as the time on watches in advert photos. Some say it looks like a smile under the manufacturers name.

Thanks for asking!

I knew the 10:10 trick, it makes the watch symmetrical and  aesthetically pleasing. I figured the day/date has some personal significance. I notice stuff like that....OCD.

After all these years, I've learnt some new about Mr Baker and his glorious watches...

It's wonderful to see this in your collection again.
