Not sure if year model is correct but would love to find out more about this watch handed down from my late grandmother

I would see this watch in the model series Diamond Romance, Candlelight or maybe La Petite

in all these model series we can find watches with similar parameters, but I did not find matching advert

Unknown for now

Gorgeous watch and one I'm sure I've seen it in an advert before. Looking now.

Hello Mommyof3, welcome to myBulova, your watch is wonderful!. I think heirloom watches are simply the best and you're very fortunate to have this one. I hope one of your children is a daughter to whom you can leave it one day.

I've looked through of the adverts we have from both the 1960's and 1970's. I see many watches that to Jaroslav's point are a very close to match your's  but none quite the same. I wish I could say exactly which model it is but I can't. For now I will have to agree  that it's 'Unknown' to me.

Thank you for sharing it, it really is lovely.

Thank you so much for all your comments and help and I'm very blessed to have been able to have this beautiful watch. I have pictures of the movement and other aspects and as soon as I can get the file size down I will post them as well

I've added the photos to this watch record and deleted the second one. They do confirm the date (1971)

Thank you I couldn't figure out how to add them. I am surprised at the date I was thinking around the 50 to 60's but that confirms that my dads father did indeed purchase it for my grandmother

Also I have looked high and low and have never found an exact match to this watch. Is there a possibility that it was custom or one of a kind

Bulova didn't really do one-off watches and there are a good many number of models produced by Bulova that we are still unaware. We sometimes strike it lucky by finding an old newspaper advert, but many watches (especially these highend models) didn't make it into the numerous official Bulova adverts.

I have the exact same watch handed down from my mother.  The only thing that is different is the bracelet part of the watch.  The reason for the difference between our watch bracelets is that the original watch face came attached to some sort of black corded band, like the one shown in the advertisement picture.  My father (and likely your grandfather) selected a different bracelet band from the jeweler to attach to the face of the watch at the time he purchased it.  My father had explained that he did not like the plain band that came with the watch and wanted my mother's watch to have more gold and diamonds.  I will try to include photos.  I have the original booklet and case that the watch came in, but it does not have any specific model number that I can find.  The booklet is more of a warantee/how the watch was made informational piece.  I'm not sure that it matters, but mine is a 1973 model of the same watch.

Hope this helps!  :)
