Shame about the matching dates on movement and case, yeah?

It really can't be anything else but a GC with that gold-plated movement, that evidence is overwhelming, and we currently have only a few ads for GC's, so "the hands don't match those seen on Golden Clippers (sic)" is a bit of an un-corroborated assumption isn't it?

Peter-g, is there anything stamped inside the case back? Thanks

This one's got way to complex for me.  I'm going to abstain from voting.
If I abstain, does this lower the number of votes required to meet "guideline" that the majority of panel members determine the ID?
I would think, for operational purposes, it could be the majority of the panel members who will vote (or perhaps have voted) which determines the ID.  I don't want to give panel members an out, leading to a series of abstains if we don't have time/desire/knowledge to vote, but at the same time, want to know how my choice to abstain effects the majority number needed to assign an ID.  I realize I can abstain if/when I want.

Will, you must vote. We need to publish this watch as soon as we can.

The gold plated movement is a good point, based on the wording of that ad.  But was the gold plated movement "new" that year only to the 17 J auto-winding Golden Clipper, or do other watch models also have a gold plated movement?  I see this 1970 Golden Clipper w/ day/date.
And this 1970 unknown.  And this 1970 17j manual wind Sea King.   Or this 1971 17J auto-winding Date King.

I'm voting unknown for now.

4 unknown: Will, Geoff, DarHin, Rev Rob.

4. Golden Clipper: OldTicker, Admin, JP, Bobbee.

1. Date King: Fifth
3 votes out: plains, Jay, Shawn

without an exact ad match I'm happy to push this back to Unknown for now until we can be 100% sure.

On a side note, does anyone know what hand style these would be?
I've got the one exactly like it in my possession and it could use new hands. I can't seem to find a thing on them!
