Watch Description

New to the site and posting here. Hello all, This is my 1969 Bulova Sea King.  I have been collecting watches, unknowingly, for about twenty years.  My watches vary oldest 1953 Bulova Winchester, at least I believe that is the name, 1954 Omega Seamaster, 1969 Bulova Sea King, four Tag Heurers, two Buame Mercier, one Ebel, and few others. Would appreciate any comments on my 1969 Sea King. Thanks for looking! James

Looks great and photos are terrific. I would have to agree with you on the Sea King call. Welcome to mybulova and feel free to post more of your bulova watches. We welcome the opportunity to see them. You might consider becoming a member if you have not yet. It is free and you will have the opportunity to see many watches and learn more about these fantastic watches.

What makes you think it's a Sea King?

Just kidding :-)

Welcome to myBulova! Hopefully the panel can narrow down the model variant if one exists for your Sea King.

Hope to see more of your Bulova collection.

Very nice SK James. Mr NOS thinks your watch might be unworn? Perhaps New Old Stock? Welcome to myBulova. I got a kick out of your statement:

"I have been collecting watches, unknowingly, for about twenty years." -

I bet your wife knew you were collecting watches before YOU did! I know mine did. Guess I'm going to have to pick up another Tag.......you know, to keep up.

If you will pop the hands off and send them to me  I can re-lume them for you for a reasonable price. You can PM me and we can discuss it.

OK Stephen...This one might not be as straight forward as it seems.   Based on the 1970 Linebook BAWD00175 this is actually a 1969 Clipper "A".   Both the watch and the Linebook show Sea King on the dial.  I suspect Automatic and Date might make this a Clipper model.

I have this same watch (haven't added it yet) with a 1969 date code on the case and 1970 on the movement, and it doesn't have the "Sea King" on the dial.

I just compared the serial code of my watch (G973831)  to the OP's watch (G973829), and it's only off by 3 :)

I mean off by 2, not 3. My apologies if there is a way I am not seeing to edit a post instead of posting a new comment.

Clipper "A" is another consideration for this design in 1970 models the with Sea King on the dial; but Clipper was a 1970 entry according to the linebooks.

I would say Sea King "CD" is still correct for 1969.
