Additional Information

Hi everyone,

this watch belonged to my grandfather and I can't seem to find this exact model anywhere on the internet. My grandmother told me that it was some sort of limited edition and that the strap is not the original one. The watch was purchased in Germany. I hope someone can find out which watch this exactly is and I appreciate every help. Someone I talked to said that it looked like a Accutron 218 and while it has some similarities there are some differences like the 12, 9 and 6 hour markings.

Nice watch, you are lucky to have such a cool keepsake from your grandfather. Based on where it was bought and the fact that the serial number starts with "1-" would indicate the watch was most likely built in Europe, so it may be difficult to identify. There were Bulovas produced overseas that were never sold or advertised in the US.

It's appearance with crown at 4 position leads me to believe it is a variant of the Bulova line simply called "Accutron Calendar", with each different variation given a letter, Like A, B, C, etc.

I find no ads in the database that are an exact match, so my best guess at this point is

1968 Bulova Accutron Calendar - unknown variant.

I'd go with 1968 Accutron Calendar, barring any new advert matches.

Advert search did not turn up any variants, have to go with Accutron Calendar for now, no variant. Very nice heirloom watch!

Hi Tom, congrats on getting a wonderful keepsake from your grandfather. We don't have adverts enabling us to ID every watch by model name. We generally refer to Accutrons with date windows as 'Calendar' models. The 218 someone suggested is the movement style so technically this could be referred to as a 218 Accutron. The first generation Accutron watches didn't have a winding crown but were back set, that movement was called the 214. The second generation has a winding stem at the 4 o'clock position which made is instantly recognizable as an Accutron. This second gen movement is called the 218 style.
