Not sure if I am posting in the correct area... I have had a box of old watches and parts for years, I pick up interesting things for costumes now and then. I dug in my box to find a part to fix my five dollar Walmart watch and found this one working. I've been wearing it for a few months, nearly did the dishes while wearing it.. Then out of the blue, I got the idea to look it up.

.After reading the forums, I realized it was pretty special. I don't think it can be my everyday watch now. I'd like to know more about it... It says its 23 jewel, selfwinding. Based on the M7 I gather that it's a 1967 model. Does it have a name? What sort of documentation would I need to sell it?

The band says: 1/20 10k G.F top caps with the name Speidel USA. The back of the watch says: 0015 gold electroplate bezel, 10KT RGP back, Shock Resistant, Anti Magnetic, self winding, water proof...the number F418283 and an M7....

Travis, I  think if you look at the ads in the data base you might come up with a name for your watch or at least a direction as we're pretty slim on 60's and later ads. As far as documentation, I don't think you need a paper trail to sell it if that's what you want to do.

Good advice, ST!

I did a quick search of the ads and don't see a match.  Maybe someone else will spot something I missed.

I do see that the watch database lists a "Bulova 23 Calendar" which would seem to fit this watch, but we don't yet have any watches listed under that designation for use as a comparison.  Maybe yours, Travis, will be the first!

Thanks for the advise.. It does have a calendar on the face so maybe that is it. It's been exciting learning about Bulova. I still haven't found a match either. I saw an ad with a similar band design only in stainless but the face was different.

I found the 23J version of this watch in the 1970 line book called a Sea King.  Still no 1967 versions but I am looking.
