That is a real stylish diamond watch; can you tell us how many diamonds there are total, looks like four. There is a possible 1966 ad match that calls for four diamonds, model name is La Petite with a 'K' variant ('61 and '64 pricelists have this variant at $115, but the ad states $75, so perhaps an error in price or letter).

I viewed the 1966 ad match you referenced. It is the same watch except for the band. Perhaps the price difference is because of the bands. Mine has a Speigel flex band on it vs. the black corded band in the ad.

Often the cord band, or most any band, wears out over time with regular use. The band that you currently have is a common band, and not one that would have upped the price originally by $40; I'm guessing the original band on your watch was replaced at some point. There were numerous varieties of the La Petite, and many we have yet to identify; perhaps some identical ones came with different bands at different prices, that is certainly possible

Those nice lugs should be easy to spot in an ad....if we have one.

I'm good w/ La Petite variant "K" but would go two ticks tentative due to slight confusion/diff in price btwn ad and price lists.  I would think the price lists are looked over pretty thoroughly since they are a contract mod sent to all USA Bulova dealers.

Hi Tana, welcome to myBulova, it's a lovely watch you've brought us. The watch in the ad certainly looks like a match to yours as does the one we have in the dB already ( http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1964-la-petite-3630 ). The Speidel band is most likely a replacement but even if not probably would not have that large an impact on the original price - $75 to $115.

I agree that it's a La Petite and would add the "K" variant.

Thank you all so very much for the information! I agree, the band shouldn't make a $40 difference... I wasn't thinking it thru.

It is exciting to put a model name to it!

I would like to send it off and see if it can be fixed; I'd love to wear it. I tried to find "Timemachines" information but couldn't find anything. Any suggestions? Or suggestions of other reputable-trustworthy repairmen?

Tana

most higher end jewelry will do it for as they really send them off to be repaired. That is what I am currently doing with a bulova of mine. It will have to be over hauled to get it working again. Just research some places. Most send them off now anymore. I hope that helps.
