Pretty sure that this will be in the vintage ad section. Have you taken the time to look through the ads?

I have, but can't find the exact one.

My watch is the 30 jewel, with date.  I throught it was a DATE KING.  Look a bit like a commander, but again, not everything connects the dots.  I was looking for someone who had more experience to be able to tell me, but I am finding BULOVAs have some uniqueness to them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Now, what PRESIDENT?  The website mentions different variations.

If it was a variation trust me fifth would have known and told you. As would Admin. By the way its a very sweet watch :)

So the two page red Christmas Ad from 1964 is remarkable.  There is a 17 Jewel President "O" with date complication (below)

The next 1964 ad in DB is the "President 30 jewel calendar watch", showing four models. It's unlikely this ad came out after the red Christmas ad. It could have, but Xmas ad at earliest would be November?

So in 1964 ads we see 17J and 30J Presidents w/ date complications (calendar watches), w/ the 17J still advertised near year's end.  The cases "look" the same btwn the two.  The 30J was available in 14K, gold fill and Stainless, so it's the jewel count which distinguishes these apart, not jewel count and case metal.

Joe's question about the 1966 Subject watch variant may not be answered based on this, but should there be a model name "President 30 Jewel" which could be distinguished from the "President 17 Jewel" when they occur in same year?  It's not as spicific as a letter variant, but moreso than just "President"?

I imagine the 17J was discontinued or no longer called President shortly after the 30 Jewel came out.  ...did it become a date king variant w/ same case dimensions so factory didn't have to retool for diff case?  There were some date king w/ similar looking cases around this time (even in the red ad). Case dimensions are useful tools (but lots of work!).  Crystal specs could support this possibility.

The ad for the 17 Jeweled 'PRESIDENT' is a typo William.

The discussion is in the forums, somewhere.

Thanks...I had forgotten this.  Disregard most of my comment above.
