One of my favorites, Commander 'B'. This one is a top-loader and is accessed by removing the crystal and separating the split-stem. Also, I have one posted from 1966 that shows 'Automatic' on the dial; and I've been looking through ads to see roughly when Bulova started changing that from 'Selfwinding', and it appears to be mid-60s. In this case it looks to have changed in '66.

Agreed. Isn't it nice to see a change and be able to pinpoint when it happened based on 2 or more watches from a year or less apart? Looking at yours was what led me to call out the "self-winding" on face.

1965 Commander 'B'.

This was a top of the line Bulova movt, in- house 30 jewel, with shock settings for fourth and escape wheels. The Automatic module had a Beryllium Bronze driving gear and the balance was KIF DuoFix. It is difficult to compare this in modern terms, but suffice to say that afficionados nowadays are looking for brands that were 'In-House', or mostly so. A modern Automatic Swiss watch will run $700 easily, and in house brands are many thousands. Bulova was very motivated to be able to make and advertise the 'USA' made aspect to the line, and defined them as a top tier maker. It is important to note that many famous and high end brands did not make their own movts back in the day, or may not even do so now.
