This one looks to be a match to the Sea King, 1961 ad, 1962 ad. I'm unable to narrow down a variant.

It sure does look like the watch in the adverts. Can you explain the variant part? I'm a total newb. If I get to the movement would that provide the variant information?

Hey Rob, Variant is a distinctive letter added to the series name to distinguish changes (like Sea King A). It can signify a different case color, face, band or case shape/decoration within a model line. Kind of like with cars; Lexus LE versus Lexus LX - same car, same motor (usually) with different "bells and whistles" options.

Some models are a "stand alone" with no variants, some have 10 or more over time, each is unique in some way from the others.

That's kind of an over simplified explanation, but If you browse the watch models in the database by name, you will see what I mean.

Sea King - No Variant works for me.

Thank you. It's great that there's a Bulova community. I have been able to photograph the movement, can you tell me how to update the watch information and photos?

Confirming model and variant from the 1964 LineBook BAWD0158.  Very distinctive lug configuration.  Two different designs.
