I've been trying to figure out the details of this beauty. Haven't had it cracked open to photograph the movement yet because it's running so well that I don't want to mess with it. Any ID info would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you have a variant of the Beau Brummell line. It appears to match the 'TW' in yellow gold, but it will depend upon confirmation of the datecode stamped on the caseback. You state 1956 in your year field, so do you see an L6 stamped on the caseback or perhaps something starting with an M# right below the serial number? It also appears that the hands are incorrect, and were originally the fils or index type. Regarding accessing the movement, you would need to remove the crystal first, which isn't always easy to do without damaging something - so I don't blame you for not opening up the watch.

Wow, that was not where I was looking. Thank you! And yes, there is a M3 under the serial number.

Hi Dane, welcome to myBulova, this is a really nice watch. I agree that it's a Beau Brummel TW. Thanks for posting it.

Thank you all for the help, and thank you to myBulova for being such an awesome web presence. My dad was an avid collector and loved watches, but Bulova was by far his favorite as over the years he amassed well over 100 different models. I now find myself spending hours every night looking at the watches on myBulova not just for identification purposes, but because I can't help but want to know the variations between models and storylines such at the 1952 Academy Award legal issues. This site is very addictive!

I'm sure I will have another watch up soon, but thanks again for this ID.

I'm good with BB TW.  I don't know the ad date, as the file name does not give a date.  From the '60's decade forum thread though.

Available in yellow or white.  I'm almost positive each color will have a unique two-letter variant...so is the ad showing the yellow or white?
