Watch Description

Here is a new one for the database and a new name not listed in the pull down.   1962 Drake "A" confirmed by the 1963 Linebook BAWD0151 page 40.   The case is yellow gold plate and very thin with a stainless case back that is pressure fit.   It has an M2 date code.  The movement is as 11AF 17 jewel with an M2 date code.  The dial is stick markers on a white base and the sub second is not recessed.

Will add 'Drake' to the sites model taxonomy.

Any chance of a side view. I'm a sucker for these thin models, especially with nice clean dials.

Thank you Stephen.  The watch itself is only 4 mm thick excluding the crystal which I replaced with more of a domed crystal. The original crystal was a little more flush with the case but less than 5 mm thick for sure.  Here is a side picture.  I also noticed that one lug is bent so I’ll have to bend that back.  by the way my record show there are three variances of the Drake A, B and C.Drake

This one is certainly a first for me; nice snag!

Looks to be a match

The linebook for the Drake 'A' in '63 is a match; but when you look at the next year the '64 book has a different dial with 3,6,9,12.

'B' variant looks to be the same watch, but with the expansion band option.

Drake 'A' becomes the Craftsman 'AA' in 1965
