Watch Description

This watch was given to me about 30 years ago by my father who bought lots of watches. I like it because it is compact and light and keeps pretty darn good time. Just spent 6 months getting it "repaired," probably getting cleaned and lubed.

Would like to know what model it is.

Not knowing diddly about watches - other than I have worn  and  lost a few - why would the His Excellency not be the likely candidate over the The President? I don't see any indication that the President has a subsidiary second hand (got that term from a previous poster).

Oh, I am guessing the missing 6 o'clock is just that, missing. I can't recall when it was lost.

The ads showing HE have different dials, with a centre 'pan' and textured outer ring.

I want to check to see if all Presidents (or most) were center sweep hands or not which might help with this ID.

I'm "Unknown" on this watch. The uniqueness of the lugs is keeping me from the HE and President.

Yes we do. Have an advert dated December 1960 for a 23 His Excellency.

Yeah the more I look at it the more inclinded I am to go with a President variant. It has that look about it.

This was the mid-late fifties dial for the HE's.

Here is the 1961 Dial for the HE's. The outer ring effect is gone. so I would say the OP's watch is a His Excellency, not a President.

One tick as this watch stands from me.
