Nice watch, Timeless, and nice job on listing the details and posting great pics.

I note that your watch has the outside only Bulova case signature typical of the 1960s.  It appears to be all Swiss made, which would explain the unusual serial number.

I'm curious to know when Bulova began marketing/making date watches.  I haven't noticed anything prior to 1960 in the posted advertisements.

Member Stodrob had one Dated '54 or '56 and I've seen similar.

Mid 50's and the Calendar 23 was the first.

database ad is from 1959 incorrectly labeled 1960.

I'm pretty sure stoddrob had a few posts w/ goos pics of his 50's calendar watches...if they remain on site.

Actually, that's incorrect, Fifth.

There was at least one calendar model produced prior to the Calendar 23.  Here's the 1952 ad:
