Watch Description

I repaired this watch for a friend.  I will take better notes next time- forgot to record all the case information (so I am guess-remembering at the year).  The watch came with a gold speidel stretchy band and has the original case.  The dial is in excellent shape- with a mirror finished hour ring and engraved hour markers.  The hands are in pretty rough shape.

finished up.

Hey brother Matt.... welcome!!  Looking at the movement it shows a M0 date stamp and I believe would put the piece at 1960 even.

Nice post!

Model design was a President from 1955 until somewhere around 1960,  then became a Squadron as the Presidents became 23J Auto's.

The 'Presidents' became 23 Jewel Automatics in 1960 +/- according to the ads in the database which leads one to believe the Jeweler New Old Stock tagged 'Squadron' is a correct ID for a 1960's Model of this design, but You're right, We do need an ad.

Thanks for the information guys!  I do plan on asking my friend to write down the date code and serial numbers from the back of the case when he gets a chance, so I can put up some more accurate information.  5th:  that squadron is in incredible condition.  New old stock usually shows some tarnishing or age after all those years- someone took care of that one! Two more bulova watches to go (as of now)- I will be sure to get all the information off those.

I have the same watch except the chrome finish is grey on mine. Everything else is the same up to the movement number, mine is 11AC and runs very well keeping very accurate time. Serial number on back of case is 55028 and the movement is dated L3.

Movement date code 1960. I PMed Matt to see if he ever got any pictures or conformation of the case back for serial number and/or date code.

Based on the 1960 Line Book BAWD0139 Page 28 and the M0 date code on the movement  I believe this to be a 1960 Bulova America Eagle "A".  The Linebook is showing the mirror part of the dial as dark like in the disassembled photo and this does appear to perfect match to the dial hands markers and lugs.

I think we should correct the date on this one.   The movement is an M0 and there is no case serial number here to make this a 1962.
