my mother gave it to me, it was a gift from my father to my mother. I think is American Girl model. 1960s'. Its all gold 10. Is not working.
Pricelists show two 'H' variants, a 17-jewel @ $71.50/$75 in yellow with Diamonds, and a 17-jewel @ $49.50 in yellow - shown above. Also, this 49.50 design was available in both yellow and white gold.
This model line was availale in 17 or 21 jewel configuration.
This one looks to be a good match to the 'H', unless a 21-jewel is hiding inside.

These bands are indeed spring loaded, in fact, Bulova used to provide dealers with special 'American Girl' ( or 'Canadian Girl') repair kits. I have such a one, and have used it in the past to repair these. Unfortunatley, once you run out of the little springs and other parts, there is no way to get replacements of course.
