Picked this up in the 'parts' bin of a dealer at the Ohio NAWCC regional last month. Was hoping that the inside was going to be a USA made automatic movement, but it is one of the Bulova Swiss make Autos.
Movement was a bucket of rust: The mainspring (sealed barrel) and the whole of the auto module was unsalvageable. Parts movement was procured with same L8 stamping so, it is good to go. Case has the past owners initials on the back and his last name and what I guessing is his military serial number on the inside in neatly done script along with some watchmaker's notes. Images are post-COA.
Also found an advertisement for the watch and a scan is attached. I don't see this one in the archives. Watch seems to be a 1958 'Jet Clipper'.
