"D" for doubtful ?

"D" is a White Case an a White expansion bracelet, as per the ad.

Fifth, maybe it depends on which ad. I think the white gold/white expansion/charcoal dial is the "E"?   Here's a snippet of the ad linked above: Left click for full version in new window.

...and yes, I see subject's on leather regardless of the gold colors.

gorgeous is right! I love the detailed circular patterns on that dial!!   ...and for this specific color/mount combo, I don't think we have an ad showing different variant on leather?  We can assume it follows suit of the other HE variants for which we have ads suggesting mount makes a difference (like the "C" vs "EW"), but no specific ad as such.
