As shown on the case back surrounding the Serial Number at the bottom, and BULOVA at the top. (L6 under serial number for 1956). I've had some trouble finding the exact version of this watch, the closest I've come to is a Cartier Edition by Bulova with all the same lug shape, face (other than it saying Cartier 23 Jewels instead of Bulova) but the back case is the same all around (except the serial number). I know this watch is a work horse, my uncle purchased it brand new in 1957, and gave it to my father in 1961, which he used almost daily until he gave it to me in 2011 and I had it serviced. Currently on thin black leather strap as that's how I always saw it on my late father.
I'd still love to know the "proper designation/model" of this watch. Other than the 14KT Cartier I saw on the Bay of E, I saw one other that matched it well but was 10KT RGP FILLED. It was hard getting clear and no shadow pics but here you go fellow watch enthusiasts! I have a few other Bulova watches I will upload and look up more info, but if anyone has more info on this one, I will totally buy you a half a cup of coffee and a muffin. Free High Five as well :) Final photo is of the Cartier by Bulova I found that matches my watch. (Hope that's allowed)
