Looks older to me...just by basic style ( function buttons and case look)

I agree, Date is a guess to enter into this system.

The 'Yale Swimming Association' was founded in 1952 - so this Watch could be as early as.

After researching a little there are Two sweep Center Seconds Hands that move independantly, One mounted piggyback to the other, as shown below.

Anyone recognise the movement?

 Is it really NFS??

(NFS = Not For Sale?   no, I just aquired it and think it's a keeper).

I assume this was used to time Swimmers and being Bulova has used Valjoux movements in their Chrono's this movement was another valjoux, of sorts??

....an education would be appreciated.

The maker's mark should be under the balance somewhere, or on the dial side of the movement.

Yes, I'd heard under the balance - I'll look when it arrives.

Thanks.

Great watch and great historic photo.  While the model name is unconfirmed, we can call it something that makes sense until more is revealed.  So now my dilemma....is that one check or two?  ...I'll poke around for a while before I vote.

That movement looks like it is based on a Landeron, maybe a 153, or Lemania, possibly.
