Watch Description

Hi All  just received this watch today. I have looked through db but cant find a match. The movement is a selfwinding automatic . Marked L4 for 1954 it is a 10CSC 17J unadjusted. There is no markings on the inside of the case denoting,  gold / gold filled etc. the outside of the case is marked with the number 7447231 (which I presume makes the watch a 1957 model). Bulova , St/Steel back, Water tite , with stars either side, Self Winding, Shock Proof, Anti Magnetic. The case is 30.5mm in dia. excluding the crown.  The case has a seperate outer ring which screws onto the bezel and seals the back.  Would appreciate anyones assistance in helping to identify this watch   thanks George

I am going to just throw this out there with as a possible theory.   There is a listing in the 1950's waterproof watch crystal catalog that I just had uploaded that lists a model called the AQUA JET that took a 10CSC movement and a 30.4mm crystal.   I could find no ads or other reference but being a AQUA (waterproof) and JET (automatic like the clippers) makes me wonder if this could be it.   I tried searching Newspapers with no avail.   Maybe someone else might help find what this watch or the Aqua Jet is.

I found the model in a 1957 Linebook BAWD0132 and a 1956 Ad in the Vintage ad section..   This closes the gap from the ad by two years now down from 1956 to 1954 leaving a 3 year gap between subject watch and the line book.   Also in the Waterproof crystal book the model 1175 is also called an American Clipper.  Unfortunately I cannot find any listing in the sales books for an American Clipper in the 1954 and 1955.  Since we do not have the 1957 but the 1958 has case #1175.   I am inclined to believe this is a later model with 1954 replacement parts.
