This appears to be a 1953 Bulova Thayer based on some 1953 ads (attached) and the 1957 Linebook that this came from also attached. it appears the model was known as a Duo Wind prior to 1953 but we have models assigned both Duo Wind and Thayer in the database. I suspect we used later ads to assign earlier watches before we had all of the info. I believe the models should be as follows:
1950-1952 Duo Wind
1953--1957 Thayer
I think we should revisit all of the Thayer from 1950-1952 and reassign them as Duo Wind. and any Duo Wind after 1953 to a Thayer.
The case is yellow gold plated with a stainless case back with an L3 date code. The movement is a 23J 10CSC with a L2 date code. The dial is silver with even hour markers and odd triangles. The line book ad is from 1957 but we have half dozen of this model ID'd in the early 50s.
