According to the on-site ads Royal Clipper maintained the configuration shown in the above ad from 1954 to 1959. A 1960 ad shows a Royal Clipper without the x-dial. The subject watch shows a date of 1953 but doesn't appear in any on-site ads. Quite possibly an earlier Clipper of sorts, but no ads to prove it.
