I'm good w/ tentative Roderick, although I'm pretty sure its the Roderick case which may have a mvnt swap to 17 jewels, or it could be "logical progression" Rev Rob mentions.

The first linked Roderick record Ken posted above does not have jewel count info.
The second linked Roderick record does have 15 jewel movement.
The third linked Roderick record does show 17 jewels, however its a 1950 date coded movement.

All three of these linked records are listed as 1950 manufacture date.  Rob's example is 1953, so transition to newer mvnt could account for jewel count differences btwn subject watch and earlier 1950 ad.

The movt is also L3. I don't know how I missed that ad, it looks good to me. I seem to have missed the watches also, have to check my search parameters more carefully in future!

PJ's Roderick is a 10BC with 17j, but from 1950, as are the other two.  Obviously the dial foot positions are the same for BC and BT, might be a swap, but it could also be that Bulova went with the BT for the newer version? The 10BT is based on the 10BC, and both are AS 1200 ebauches. It might be a logical progression.
