Perhaps a mix up with his and hers boxes, but this box would belong to a ladies Dolly Madison watch. The watch you have is its male partner...a Bulova President.

Most school children here in the States would know that, like this box, Dolley Madison WAS in fact married to a President!

Her husband James was the US President from 1809 through 1817 and is credited as being the father of the US Constitution. Alas, it seems Bulova spelled her name wrong......

Hello SpringfieldMass, welcome to myBulova. I Like this model, it's one of my favorites from the 1950's. It appears to be in very nice condition, thanks for sharing it.

A very nice example of the 1953 Bulova President 'A', with original band.

Thank you all so much for the info.  Is there more/less "importance" to the Pesident A vs. President B, C, D?

Best regards,

Not at all, the letter designates a variant, typically it would be a different dial color or style, perhaps a different band or strap.
